Support starts with understanding
Many people reach out for therapy or assessment after spending a long time feeling misunderstood, uncertain about what they need or unsure where to begin.
Our approach considers the whole person, including their nervous system, neurotype, relationships, strengths, environment and lived experience. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or labels, we work to understand what is happening in the context of everyday life.
If you are looking for a psychologist near Erina, our North Gosford clinic provides access to a multidisciplinary team supporting people across the Central Coast.
Why people choose us
We see the whole person
Behaviours and symptoms rarely exist in isolation. We look at the experiences, strengths, relationships and support needs that may be shaping what a person is experiencing in daily life.
This whole-person perspective helps guide both therapy and assessment, with recommendations considered in the context of the individual rather than applied as a standard approach.
We understand complexity in real life
Some people come to us after already seeing several professionals or trying to make sense of concerns that do not fit neatly into one category.
Our clinicians work with neurodivergence, trauma, mental health concerns and complex presentations. Where experiences overlap, we aim to understand how different factors may be interacting rather than assuming there is one simple explanation.
We make getting help easier
Knowing which psychologist or service to choose can be difficult, especially when you are already managing stress or uncertainty.
Our administration team helps with clinician matching so you do not need to work everything out alone. Support is available both in person at North Gosford and online where appropriate, with minimal wait times where possible.
Looking for answers?
You may be exploring autism, ADHD, learning differences, cognitive functioning or trying to understand why certain things have always felt more difficult for you or your child.
Our psychological assessment services are designed to build a clearer picture of individual strengths, challenges and support needs. Assessment may include autism, ADHD, combined autism and ADHD, cognitive, learning and other psychological assessments depending on the questions being explored.
The process is intended to provide more than a label. Where appropriate, assessment includes feedback and practical recommendations to help individuals, families and other professionals understand possible next steps.
Psychology services for Erina and the Central Coast
We provide assessment and therapeutic support across different stages of life. The appropriate service and clinician will depend on the person, their circumstances and what they are hoping to understand or work through.
-
Children may communicate distress differently from adults, and the concerns seen at home may not always be obvious at school or in other settings.
Our team supports children and families with emotional regulation, parenting challenges, school concerns, trauma and neurodivergence. For younger children, play therapy can provide a developmentally appropriate way to explore experiences and emotions when words alone may not be enough.
-
Adolescence can involve significant changes in relationships, identity, learning, expectations and emotional wellbeing.
Our clinicians support young people experiencing mental health concerns, trauma, neurodivergence, learning difficulties, school avoidance and identity-related challenges. Care is adapted to the individual young person and their circumstances rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
-
Adults seek psychological support for many different reasons. Some are experiencing anxiety or depression, while others are managing trauma, neurodivergence, burnout, major life changes or concerns they have carried for many years.
Our psychological therapy services provide space to explore these experiences, understand patterns and develop approaches that may support everyday functioning and wellbeing.
-
Relationship difficulties can develop through communication patterns, attachment experiences, stress, disconnection or unresolved hurt.
Our couples therapy services support partners who want to better understand what is happening within their relationship and work towards safer, clearer and more constructive ways of relating.
-
Psychological assessment can help explore questions relating to autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, cognitive skills and other aspects of functioning.
Our assessment team uses evidence-based tools alongside clinical information to develop a more complete understanding of the person. Recommendations are considered in relation to their individual circumstances, strengths and support needs.
-
The Heart & Mind Collective also supports eligible self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
Our NDIS psychology services may include psychological therapy, functional capacity assessment, psychological assessment, reports and progress reviews according to the participant’s circumstances and goals.
Choosing a psychologist is personal. Qualifications and professional experience matter, but so can communication style, therapeutic approach and whether you feel comfortable enough to participate openly in the process.
Our team includes psychologists, mental health social workers, counsellors and play therapists with different areas of experience. You can explore our clinician profiles to learn more about the people within the team.
If you are not sure who may suit you, that is okay. Our team can help consider your needs and guide you towards a clinician whose experience and approach may be appropriate.
Find the right fit
Not sure where to start?
It is common to know that something needs attention without knowing exactly which service to choose.
You may be uncertain whether you need therapy, an assessment, parenting support, play therapy, couples counselling, neurofeedback, EMDR, NDIS support or something else. You may also have several concerns that seem connected and be unsure which one to address first.
For people affected by traumatic or distressing experiences, EMDR therapy may be one approach considered depending on individual circumstances. Other people may benefit from a different therapeutic pathway or from assessment before deciding what comes next.
You do not need to determine this on your own before contacting us. Complete our new client enquiry and provide some information about what you are looking for so our team can help guide you.
