5 C's of mental health

This is a powerful reminder to prioritise our well-being and open up the conversation around mental health. It's a journey we all share, and it's okay not to be okay. Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. Let's make a commitment to showing ourselves and others a little more kindness, compassion, and understanding today and every day. Remember, you're not alone.

Here are the 5 C's of mental health:

Competence

Feeling capable and prepared to handle what life throws at you is key to a strong sense of self. It's about recognising your strengths and knowing you have the skills to face challenges. You are more capable than you think.

Confidence

Believing in yourself is a superpower. Confidence isn't about being perfect; it's about accepting your flaws and celebrating your uniqueness. Cultivate a positive self-image and let it guide you.

Connection

We are wired for connection. Surrounding yourself with people who uplift and support you builds a strong foundation for your mental health. Find your community and lean on your loved ones. You don't have to go it alone.

Character

Your character—your integrity and values—shapes how you navigate the world. Acting with responsibility and a strong ethical compass can build self-respect and a sense of purpose. Stay true to who you are.

Caring

Compassion starts with you. Caring for your own needs is the first step to being able to show empathy and concern for others. Be gentle with yourself, just as you would with a friend.
